▲ [20p-A307-4] Design of Metal-Insulator-Metal Diodes for Optical Rectennas Operating at Various Wavelengths
キーワード:MIM diode, Optical rectenna
Rectennas (short for “rectifying antennas”) devices consist of an antenna-coupled rectifying element to absorb the incident radiation energy and convert it into direct current (DC). The optical rectennas provide an exciting energy harvesting technique to directly rectify solar and thermal electromagnetic radiation. A crucial component of optical rectennas is the metal-insulator-metal (MIM) diode to rectify the ultrahigh frequency close to petahertz.
The main focus of this study is to correlate the potential barrier properties of MIM diodes with suitable operating wavelengths. A design framework of MIM diodes is expected to discuss with various operating wavelengths. Moreover, shaping the barrier potential is an attractive approach to breaking the trade-off relationship. Some methods to control the barrier potential for improving the performance of the MIM diode will introduce in the presentation, such as using the double insulators with different bandgaps, and applying the electrical field concentration effect to generate greater responsivity and asymmetry.
