[22a-E203-7] Excitonic properties of high-quality CVD-grown Janus WSSe

Monolayer Janus TMDCs with the chemical formula of MXY (M = Mo, W; X ≠ Y = S, Se) are intriguing platform for novel properties. Since the metal atom is sandwiched by two different chalcogenide atoms, electronegativity difference of these atoms gives rise to out-of-plane dipole moment. The intrinsic dipole leads to interesting properties, such as in-plane Rashba splitting and out-of-plane piezoelectricity. Although the Janus TMDCs with narrow excitonic linewidths have been realized using exfoliated flakes as starting material very recently, high quality and large area synthesis of all-CVD-grown Janus TMDCs is still lacking. In this work, we report a high-quality CVD-grown Janus WSSe with narrow excitonic linewidth.
