Metallic nanoparticles exhibit strong electromagnetic field enhancement due to localized surface plasmon resonance. However, the phase relaxation time of plasmon is as short as several femtoseconds. To obtain a strong electromagnetic field enhancement effect, it is essential to extend the lifetime of plasmons. We are attempting to control the lifetime by utilizing the strong coupling between plasmons and excitons composed of molecular aggregates. In this study, we investigated the spectral properties and phase relaxation dynamics of the exciton-plasmon strong coupling system.
