In my talk, I will recall how Silicene, born in 2012, was designed, and could further engender a large family of artificial Xenes from Beryllene to Bismuthene. I will further present the fascinating emerging properties of these novel quantum materials, especially those of Germanene, Stanene, and Plumbene.
