[S26] Toward bright and diverse future for pharmaceutical students by studying abroad

Sun. Mar 27, 2022 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM [Room B] Conference Room 131+132 (Bldg. 1: 3F)

Organizer: Yuuta Fujikawa (Faculty Life Sci., Tokyo Univ. Pharm. Life Sci.), Atsushi Nakayama (Grad. Sch. Sci., Osaka City Univ.)

This symposium is the successor to the "Study Abroad Symposium" held in the past. Each of the previous symposia featured presentations by speakers from academia with the keywords of drug discovery and diversity. However, many pharmacy students say that there is no room for them to consider studying abroad, as their career path generally involves graduating from a six-year pharmacy school, taking the Japanese national examination to become a pharmacist, or working as a business person. Therefore, in this symposium, we invited speakers who have studied abroad as "pharmacy students," "doctoral students," and "pharmacists" to share how and why they decided to study abroad and what they are doing now. In addition, they will share their impressions of the future path of Japanese pharmaceutical professionals from the perspective of their overseas experience. We would like to provide an opportunity for pharmaceutical students and pharmaceutical professionals who think they are far away from studying abroad to consider the option of studying abroad as one of their career choices and career development.
