[B-1-65] Design of Single-Layer Reconfigurable Circularly Polarized Conical-Beam Planar Array Antenna with Switchable Proximity Gap-Coupled Feed Network

This paper presents a reconfigurable planar array antenna for switchable circular polarization (CP) with conical-beam radiation. It consists of four radiating elements and a feed network. Each element is designed to provide CP switching property by means of proximity gap-coupled feedlines. Then, this reconfigurable element is arranged into a two-dimensional array configuration to facilitate the conical-beam pattern. As a design advantage, the entire array architecture realizes a single-layer design technology, featuring straightforward bias-decoupling feature.
