Optical coherence tomography (OCT) has become a mainstay in biomedical imaging technology owing to its noninvasive imaging and higher spatial resolution. Various probes have been developed for OCT to extend the range of applications. We have been studying applications of short multimode fibers(SMMFs) as an imaging fiber GRIN lens in a forward-imaging probe, because of its miniaturization, robustness, reliability, and low cost. We have also reported basic characteristics of SMMF, such as MTF (modulation transfer function) and depolarizations, and in vivo rat brain imaging.
Here we demonstrate the in vivo rat hippocampus imaging using SMMF FF OCM (full field optical coherence microscopy). In in vivo imaging movements of sample influence the results. We measured the 3D images and evaluated movements of samples through the processed images.
