[3O12] Application of Melt Refining of Metal Fuel to CANDLE Reactor
(3)Effects of Cooling Time during Melt and Refining Procedures
キーワード:cooling time, nuclides density distribution, access reactivity difference, melt and refining cycle (MRC), CANDLE
The effects of cooling time during melt and refining procedure application to the CANDLE reactor was investigated. The introduction of cooling time during melt and refining procedures has gave significant impacts to the core design of CANDLE burning. The cooling time of 1, 2, 4 and 8 years were simulated at each melt and refining cycle (MRC). The effects of cooling time to the access reactivity varies with the cooling period. The longer of cooling time may reduced the access reactivity of CANDLE burning to the less than unity. In this case, the core design of CANDLE (fuel volume ratio) may need to optimize to compensate with the decrease of access reactivity due to the accumulation of AM241 during cooling period.
