Two novel thiodiglycolamides (TDGA) extractants were synthesized and their abilities to extract Pd(II), Rh(III) and Ru(III) from nitric acid solutions were studied. In order to improve extractability of Rh(III), mixed solvents of TDGA extractants and tertiary amine extractants were used. Pd(II) and Ru(III) were extracted by only TDGA from nitric acid solutions. Slope analyses and Job's plots were used to assume the stoichiometry of extracted complexes.
