[2L18] Evaluation of noble metal and YP behavior based on the cold cap formation in glass melter

*Masahiro Yoshioka1, Atsushi Yamazaki1, Yuusuke Watanabe1 (1. Reprocessing Plant, Japan Nuclear Fuel Limited)

Keywords:vitrification, noble metals, yellow phase, cold cap, needle-shaped RuO2 crystal, advanced melter

The stable melter operating conditions and operation influences have been confirmed in parameters on the addition of DBP to waste supply and on glass melter type until now by full-scale mock-up tests for Rokkasho vitrification facility.
From the result of those examinations, because it was estimated that the bottom temperature of cold cap varied with the formation state of cold cap, and the sedimentation behavior of noble metals and YP was affected, the mechanism about that behavior was evaluated.
