In the Taiwan Chichi Earthquake (1999.9, M 7.6), dams and houses collapsed due to fault displacement, and the influence on the ground and structures due to fault displacement was noticed. At present, elucidation of the influence by fault displacement to nuclear facility is a significant issue.
In this report, we show the overall framework of evaluation method from the viewpoint of PRA application concerning safety assessment of nuclear facility due to fault displacement which may occur by earthquakes around the site. Furthermore, PRA evaluation method for evaluating core damage frequency (CDF) due to fault displacement is presented.
