The energy spectrum of the low energy X-rays from a Crookes tube was evaluated using a CZT detector and a Be window Ge detector, and also by the linear attenuation coefficient analysis with GM survey meter.
X-rays are emitted in pulse when a Crookes tube is driven using an induction coil.
To prevent a pile up, X-rays must be colimated using a very small aperture, and the counting rate needed to be suppressed very low.
