As the TEPCO's Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant accident, radiocaesium-bearing microparticles (CsMPs), are condensed radiocaesium activity and slightly soluble, were released into the environment.
In October, 2018, high radioactivity of radiocaesium was found in the collected suspended sediment at a river monitoring site in Fukushima prefecture. As the result of further analyses by imaging plate and germanium semiconductor detector, a radioactive particle, was 12.8 Bq in Cs-137, was found in a sample. After the separation of the particle, the analyses of particle size and chemical composition were carried out. In addition, the comparison study in general characteristics of the particle between the separated particle and CsMPs was conducted.
