Tritium retention in structural materials is one of serious problems in fusion blanket systems. Moreover, severe radiation environments may affect the hydrogen isotope retention behavior. In this study, gamma-ray irradiation effects on deuterium retention in reduced activation ferritic steel F82H and tritium permeation barrier ceramic coatings have been investigated.
