As a technical program sponsored by Nuclear Regulation Authority, Japan, we, the nuclear safety research center of JAEA, have conducted research to confirm the applicability of current regulatory criteria and to obtain the knowledge which will be used as technical bases for future regulation, for advanced fuels which have been developed by nuclear utilities in order to raise the safety of nuclear power plant. In this research, we have performed tests simulated reactivity-initiated accidents and loss-of-coolant accidents, and will present the results which have been obtained until now as a series of presentations. An outline of this research will be presented in this presentation.
