Japan, EU, the United States, Russia, South Korea, China, and India are collaborating to construct a fusion reactor, ITER, in southern France to make fusion energy a reality. Designated as a Japan’s domestic agency for the ITER Project, National Institute for Quantum and Radioactive Science and Technology (QST for short) supports ITER by procuring commissioned components and dispatching Japanese personnel to the project.
