[1I09] Study on core characteristics with moderator loading in accelerator driven system for plutonium transmutation

We took up an accelerator driven system as a safe and efficient method for decreasing surplus plutonium. ZrH loading was proposed as an improvement plan, and changes in core performance and nuclear characteristics were investigated by numerical analysis. As a result, it was shown that the reduction of the effective multiplication factor was suppressed by the promotion of the neutron capture reaction, and the transmutation performance of plutonium was also increased.
