In order to realize highly efficient and safe nuclear power generation, the development of fuels and materials with excellent radiation resistance is important. It is important to clarify the superimposed irradiation effects and microstructure development by different energy and quality radiation in the environment where nuclear reactors and waste materials are used, in order to develop the next generation fuels and materials. In this study, we prepared samples of cerium dioxide, which is a mock-up of uranium dioxide, and observed the microstructural development of irradiated samples by “in-situ” electron irradiation using electron microscopy (200-1250 keV).
