Microstructural observation with APT and TEM and mechanical examination with nano-indenter were performed in the 316 stainless steel model alloys irradiated with ions. The amount of barrier strength factor of Ni-Si clusters, αNiSiClu was obtained to be 0.073 and it suggested that an individual nature of Ni-Si cluster is a weak barrier obstacle against mobile dislocation and it controls the irradiation hardening behavior. From the APT observation, Si atom enrichment on Frank loop habit plane was found in Si-added model alloy. From the result of quantitative analysis about irradiation hardening due to Si atom enrichment on Frank loop, the enhanced coefficient of irradiation hardening contributed by Frank loop due to Si atom enrichment was obtained to be 1.12.
