Cs2Si4O9 powder was synthesized by a wet method using cesium carbonate powder and LUDOX(R) AS-40 colloidal silica 40 wt. % suspension in H2O as starting materials. The characteristic of Cs2Si4O9 was investigated by using X-ray diffraction, Raman, and thermogravimetry- differential scanning calorimetry. The structure of Cs2Si4O9 was analyzed by transmission electron microscopy.
