Division of reserach for severe sccident, Nuclear Regulatory Authority, has performed a series of underwater high temperature melt spreading tests at the Royal Institute of Technology Sweden for 6 years. Using the shallow pool PULiMS facility, we investigated the behavior of melt jet impingment and melt spreading on the floor surface, heat removal and solidification, and studied the mechanism that should be newly developed as numerical models.
