It is known that theoretical prediction of fission barrier suffers from error of the order of about 1 to 5 MeV.

In the present work, we calculate the fission barriers by the Relativistic Mean-Field theory (covariant

density functional theory) with Lagrangian density including a nonlinear term of the omega meson, and investigate how it dependes on treatment of the pairing correlation. We elucidated its origin, and compare it with results obtained by the non-relativistic density functional theory.
