Keywords:BNCT, epi-thermal neutron, fast neutron, neutron flux intensity, foil activation method

Based on the foil activation method using 71Ga(n,γ)72Ga reaction, a neutron flux intensity detector for epi-thermal neutrons was designed and produced for boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT). The detector was experimentally tested with its prototype in neutron fields produced at KUR of Kyoto University, Japan. The experimental test results indicated that the performance of the detector was confirmed to be acceptable in the neutron field of BNCT. Practically, the epi-thermal neutron flux intensity can be measured within an error of 3.9% by the detector. The design of the fast neutron detector has been completed, so we will show the design result in the meeting.
