[2N07] Development of tritium generation rate measurement based on pulse shape discrimination using single crystal CVD diamond detector
Keywords:Neutron, Diamond detector, tritium
The single crystal diamond detector is a promising candidate as the real-time monitor for fast neutron flux and tritium generation rate. However, due to the sensitivity of diamond for gamma-ray, the appropriate discrimination of pulses by energetic particles (fast neutron, triton, alpha-ray, etc.) from the pulses by gamma-ray is necessary.
In this study, a single crystal CVD diamond detector with the paste of lithium compounds was used to directly measure the energetic triton during neutron irradiation. According to the difference in the distributions of hole-electron pair generated by energetic ions and gamma-ray, the pulse shape discrimination method was applied to measure the energetic triton. Also, the evaluation of tritium generation rate measurement quantitative was conducted quantitative according to the particle transport calculation.
