[3G09] Evaluation of Void Fraction in Vertical Pipes under Flooding at the Upper End

*Toshiya Takaki1, Michio Murase1, Kosuke hayashi2, Akio Tomiyama2 (1. INSS, 2. Kobe Univ.)

Keywords:Vertical pipe, Countercurrent flow, Flooding at upper end, Void fraction, Drift-flux

Void fraction α and interfacial friction factor fi under flooding at the top end in vertical pipes were obtained by using the correlation of wall friction factor fw proposed in our previous study and existing data for pressure gradient dP/dz. A correlation for liquid film thickness δ was derived as a function of the liquid Reynolds number ReL, a correlation for fi was derived as a function of the gas Kutateladze parameter KG*, and an experimental equation for drift velocity Vgj with the distribution parameter of C0 = 1.0 was derived.
