We evaluated effects of boron on cesium and iodine chemistries during transportation in a reactor in a severe accident. We identified the effects of boron which should be considered in severe accident analysis. Namely, Boron containing the BWR control material reacts with cesium vapor, which can lead to the formation of gaseous iodine, and B is deposited at high temperature region in a reactor, which can lead to the cesium capture.
