[1C05] Effect of super-saturation on continuous removal of radioactive strontium from fresh water by co-crystallization with calcium carbonate

*Tsuneki Ichikawa1,2, Kazuo Yamada2 (1. Hokkaido University, 2. National Institute for Environmental Studies)

Keywords:radioactive strontium, calcium carbonate, co-crystallization, degree of decontamination, degree of supersaturation

Radioactive strontium was continuously removed from contaminated fresh water by continuous co-crystalization with calcium carbonate. The degree of the decontamination increased with increasing concentration of the supersaturated calcium carbonate, and was reached more than 99.5%.
