For storage of fuel debris retrieved from Fukushima Daiichi NPP, it is considered to discriminate fuel debris and radioactive waste according to the amount of nuclear fuel materials. High-energy X-ray CT is one of the non-destructive assay techniques to measure the mass of high-density objects like nuclear fuel materials with high throughput. CT is possible to evaluate the mass by measuring 3D density distribution but difficult to identify materials when there are effects of bulk density. In this research, material discrimination ability by dual energy CT images using different X-ray energy distribution was evaluated. As a result, the prospect that heavy material like uranium is able to be discriminated from iron and concrete was obtained.
