It is crucial to figure out the spreading and solidification behavior of the molten metal impinging into the water to predict the fuel debris distribution in Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plants. In this study, the influences of the water level, outlet diameters, and the melt velocity for the solidification profile of the molten metal were experimentally investigated.
