The device enabled a real-time simultaneous measurement of gas desorption behavior and microstructure evolution has been newly built by incorporating the quadrupole mass spectroscope (QMS) into the transmission electron microscope (TEM) with an ion gun. In this presentation, the limitations attribute to this new device, TEM-QMS, and the issues for overcoming them are discussed. In addition, an example of the experimental result obtained with TEM-QMS will be shown.
