[2M15] Deposition characteristics revealing different sizes of molecular clusters of Po-218 and Pb-214 in air.

Keywords:radon, molecular cluster, unattached component

Removal velocities of Po-218 and Pb-214, short-lived radon-222 decay products, molecular clusters in air were simultaneously measured in room air in which aerosol particles were removed. While the conditions of water vapor in air that would control the formation of the clusters were common, and mass of both the nuclides are almost the same, the measurements show 10-fold larger deposition velocity coefficients of Po-218 than those of Pb-214, inferring different sizes of the clusters between the two nuclides.
