In order to consider the preventive maintenance of the major components in the PWR primary cooling system, it is important to compare the differences in the corrosive conditions of BWRs and PWRs and to transfer the experiences with the countermeasures for the preventive maintenances of BWR components to those of PWRs. In the previous presentations (the series #1), it was reported that the water radiolysis was much affected by pH of the cooling water. In this presentation, the major effect of pH on the water radiolysis is investigated, and the optimal pH control from the viewpoint of water radiolysis is discussed.
