[2G04] Social acceptance of energy technologies and nuclear waste
An effect of information about nuclear energy
Keywords:intergenerational equity, NIMBY, part-worth, conjoint analysis, k-means clustering
Many research groups have discussed the social acceptance of nuclear energy so far. In particular, they have analyzed effects of information publicity on attitudes toward nuclear energy. However, almost previous papers haven’t examined the effects quantitatively. In this study, social acceptances of energy technologies and nuclear waste are estimated by means of conjoint analysis. We derive part-worth of attributes as productions of renewable and nuclear, emission reduction of carbon dioxide, distance between residence and disposal site, and disposal and repository methods. The effect of the information about nuclear and the sociality on the part-worth is evaluated for the levels in the attributes. Furthermore, we show characteristics of each cluster for the attributes and their levels by implementing k-means clustering algorithm.
