[3C02] Development of automatic drive control system for bulldozer

As labor saving and measures for working population decrease, automation of construction machine is pushed forward. The demand for earthwork is anticipated in the construction of nuclear back-end facilities. Recognizing position, posture and space with sensors such as multiple GNSS and LIDAR, measuring the ground height, the system performs automatic setting of driving path and the blade height based on the ground with safety functions such as obstacle avoidance and stop by around space detection. We developed a prototype of automatic driving system for bulldozer, installed on D6 class machine and tested it in the field. This report shows basic concept, preceding automatic bulldozer, design and integration of the system, machine driving test result, and its technical review.
