[3E14] Pairing strength dependence of actinides in Relativistic Mean-Field theory
Keywords:Nuclear data, Relativistic Mean-Field theory, Fission barrier, Pairing Correlation, Actinides
It is known that the theoretical prediction of fission barriers suffers from an error of the order of about a few MeV. In this study, the pairing correlation is applied in BCS form as a residual interaction to the Relativistic Mean Field Theory (covariant density function theory) for the nuclides in the actinide region. It was found that the fission barriers could be reproduced quite well by adjusting the strength of the pairing correlation in a systematic manner. The systematic trends of the pairing strength could also reproduce the binding energy and pairing rotation much better than the original interaction. Therefore, the new systematic parameter set can be applied to predict fission-related quantities of nuclei for which they are not known well.
