The latest version of IAEA NFCSS (Nuclear Fuel Cycle Simulation System) was reviewed to apply it to the material balance evaluation of nuclear fuel cycle. NFCSS is a scenario-based simulation code that can model various nuclear fuel cycle options. The technical report published in 2019 provides significant updates information. The current NFCSS simulates material flow at each process such as mining and milling, conversion, enrichment, fuel fabrication, reactor, interim storage, reprocessing, and stock. In NFCSS, two Excel files are separately provided to evaluate decay heat and radiotoxicity of spent fuel. It is necessary to develop a new database and Excel files in order to evaluate the environmental impact of radioactive waste disposal for various nuclear fuel cycle options including reprocessing, separation, and disposal.
