For the development of liquid blanket systems and liquid divertor concepts, chemical compatibility of concrete materials is one of the important issues. The purpose is to make clear the chemical compatibility of cement and concrete materials in various liquid metals. The corrosion tests of the cement and concrete materials were performed by means of the immersion of their rectangular specimens in the liquid metals (Pb, Pb-16Li, PbBi, and Sn) at 773K for 250 hours. After the tests, the cross sectional SEM/EDX analysis on the specimens was performed to clarify the corrosion interactions of the materials. The dissolution of Si from the concrete material into liquid Pb was detected. The amount of dissolved Si from the concrete specimen was larger than that from the cement specimen.
