Keywords:tritium, beta-ray induced X-ray, Monte Carlo simulation, tritium distribution in solid

The beta-particle with tritium decay in solid is hardly detected by non-destructive methods. Because they usually can’t escape from the inside of solid to the outside. Nevertheless, an indirect method can be. The interaction between beta particles and constituent atoms in a solid generates X-rays (characteristic X-ray and bremsstrahlung). These X-rays can be detected by an X-ray detector. However, a spectrum obtained is changed with a tritium distribution in a solid. If the beta-ray induced X-ray spectrum of tritium in solid is calculated, the spectrum obtained can be analyzed quantitatively. Monte Carlo simulation program for beta-ray induced X-ray spectrum of tritium in solid was made and calculate spectra at a various tritium distribution in a solid.
