We examined the T permeation through an Inconel 600 film from/into high temperature, high pressure water. The devices used was made of type 304 stainless steel and separated into two chambers by the sample. Tritiated water (0.9 MBq/cm3) was introduced into one chamber and light water into the other. The device was heated at 280 °C for 14–60 hours. After heating, the T concentration in the light water side was measured. The permeation rate was 1 Bq/h until 14 hours, and then it became 3 Bq/h. The increase in the permeation rate at 14 h was ascribed to increase in partial pressure of HT via oxidation of the sample and chamber inner walls.
