To evaluate the realistic fire propagation characteristics of the complex fire compartments under mechanical ventilation condition, we developed a two-layer zone fire model BRI2-CRIEPI, which divides the fire compartment into the upper hot gas (smoke upper) layer and the lower layer consisting of cool fresh air. In this study, we improved plume model, multiple fire source model, fan curve model, the heat release model under low oxygen concentration in the compartment, the radiative heat feedback model to the fire source from the surrounding environment, cable tray fire model, water spray model and so on. Moreover, we conducted the benchmark analysis on the full-scale fire tests using BRI2-CRIEPI to verify each model and confirmed the applicability of BRI2-CRIEPI model.
