It is pointed out that the possibility that flammable gas contributes to the explosion of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station Unit 3 accident. Therefore, in this study, organic materials which exist in the nuclear primary containment vessel like cables, paints, and heat insulators were heated under steam or hydrogen gas, and the generated gasses were evaluated. As a result, several kinds of flammable organic gasses were generated when heated up to 1,000 degrees Celsius, and it was revealed that gasses were more generated under the steam than hydrogen gas.
