(8) Data measurement and nuclide discrimination at the height of the reactor building
Keywords:Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, decommissioning, nuclide discrimination, UAV
In this R&D, we will research and develop a measurement system for data measurement in the nuclear reactor building of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, taking into account access to high places, etc. and nuclide discrimination. We will develop a mechanism to control the posture and measure the position of a UAV by controlling the length of tethers attached to the UAV from a ground robot. This mechanism will be mounted on a crawler robot to enable measurement at high altitudes. We will also develop sensors necessary to discriminate Cs-137, the main γ-ray source, from pure β-nuclides (Sr/Y-90) in the 1F reactor building, and construct a measurement unit as a β/γ-nuclide discrimination system. These are reported.
