(5) Corrosion behavior of Ni-based alloy and stainless steel with chloride salt

Reaction tests were conducted on Ni-based alloys and stainless steels in NaCl-CaCl2-CeCl3 molten salt to investigate the compatibility of chloride molten salts with structural materials. The composition of the corrosion products were identified by the TEM observations, and the corrosion mode was homogeneous corrosion, with Mo and Ni dissolution due to Cr and Fe diffusion.
