We have developed the hydrogen treatment system with metal oxide as a countermeasure of a large quantities of hydrogen generated in the primary containment vessel of BWRs in severe accidents. In order to predict behavior of low heat reaction hydrogen reactants, we construct reaction model of powdered reactants which were prepared from 2 mm granules. The reaction model was built into the mathematical model of hydrogen reactants. The reaction behavior of powdered reactants was evaluated by using thermo-gravimetric analyses. To investigate the effect of the hydrogen, vapor, temperature and pressure on the behavior of reaction, hydrogen treatment was conducted by using the packed bed reactor. Empirical formulas were created and, the numerical analysis result generally consistent with experimental result.
