Power plants have numerous equipment/instruments, and it is desirable to monitor the status of equipment deterioration based on operational data for early detection of deterioration. For monitoring plant performance and equipment/instruments deterioration Hitachi has been developing the HAPPS (Hitachi Advanced Plant Performance diagnosis System) based on the heat balance analysis and the DVR (Data Validation and Reconciliation) statistical analysis methods. HAPPS can determine whether the cause of plant performance degradation is equipment deterioration or instrument abnormality and detect equipment performance degradation, steam leakage, instrument drift, etc. that progress over several cycles at the initial stage. In this presentation, we show the outline of HAPPS and the performance verification result by comparison with the model calculation simulating the plant abnormality.
