VOYGR^TM is a nuclear power plant utilizing NuScale Power Module (NPM). The NPM is a PWR that integrates reactor components such as the containment vessel, pressure vessel, and steam generator. The NPM is an innovative reactor with modularization and simplified design in addition to proven LWR technologies. JGC and IHI, along with NuScale, have been selected to participate in the Nuclear Energy Innovation Promotion (NExIP), a project subsidized by the METI, from 2019. These companies are studying and developing technologies to participate in the first VOYGR^TM plant in the U.S. They are also studying regulatory issues for the future introduction of VOYGR^TM in Japan.
