[2I13] Zirconium separation on uranium nitrate solution by zeolite

Uranium recovery from uranium nitrate solution contained massive of zirconium which was generated by development of decommissioning of Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Station has been conducted. To separate zirconium from uranium nitrate solution by LZY-54 zeolite on column operation was confirmed. Therefore the procedure using the zeolite was considered on the real solution. Chemical form of uranium on the solutions was judged by pH and ORP value. It was possible that zirconium was separated uranium by the LZY-54 zeolite column operation, and a decontamination factor with zirconium was 5.9. 73% of uranium was recovered, but 17% of uranium was retained in the column.
