[1B03] High precision isotopic analysis for gallium in terrestrial rocks

Gallium-68 is used for PSMA-PET to detect prostate cancer. However, the demand of this isotope is high and there is a need for an efficient production method. One way to concentrate ⁶⁹Ga, which is used to make ⁶⁸Ga by the ⁶⁹Ga(p, 2n)⁶⁸Ge reaction followed by the decay of ⁶⁸Ge to ⁶⁸Ga, but high precision isotope analysis is needed to validate the isotope concentration rate. In this study, we used Cu as a doping agent to correct for instrumental mass fractionation and obtain high precision Ga isotope analysis and was also applied to rock samples. The Cu doping method was effective and showed that the rock samples were in agreement with previous studies.
