[1B12] Evaluation of Extraction Performance of Cesium from Nitric Acid Solution using Deep Eutectic Solvent
Keywords:Microfluidic, Deep eutectic solvents, Solvent extraction, Cesium
In order to promote decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident, it is necessary to continuously separate and analyze a wide variety of radionuclides. Our laboratory has established a method for separation and analysis of metal elements using microfluidic control and has succeeded in extracting various nuclides several times faster than conventional methods, but highly efficient extraction of cesium is still difficult. In this study, we focused on deep eutectic solvents (DES), which have biodegradability and low volatility, instead of conventional organic solvents, to evaluate the effects of acid concentration and extraction time on the bulk extraction performance of cesium, and compared the results with those of micro-plug flow extraction.
