Currently, the design of the fusion neutron source A-FNS is being pursued. While the main purpose of A-FNS is material irradiation, there is also a possibility to utilize it for fast neutron imaging. The aim of the research is to clarify the potential of fast neutron imaging using A-FNS and the quality of the images such as contrast or resolution. In this study, we conducted simulations to obtain transmission images of simple objects composed of light water or iron using PHITS, and examined the differences in the transmission images. Furthermore, we performed experimental verification of fast neutron imaging using J-PARC RADEN. By comparing the experimentally obtained transmission images with simulation’s one generated by PHITS, we conducted further analysis and discussion.
